CLIFF RICHLER,
Founder, President and CEO

Cliff Richler founded Network Franchising International in 1980 in Montreal, Canada. During more than 30 years in the franchise industry, he has personally sold hundreds of franchises, including Area Developments and Master Franchises, in both Canada and internationally. Mr. Richler is bilingual (French and English) and he holds a degree in Business Administration from the University of Montreal and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Loyola College. Upon graduation, he joined a major Canadian retail chain and gained extensive experience in retail store operations, lease negotiations, licensing, budgeting and financing. From 1989 to 1990, Mr. Richler participated in the Canadian Business Trade Delegation to Europe that resulted in the expansion of several Canadian-based franchisors into Europe. He has also been actively involved and instrumental in taking some of his client companies Public on various stock exchanges in Canada and the USA. For more details about our history, click here.

Through Network Franchising International, Mr. Richler has provided quality franchise services to numerous Franchisors throughout North America, developing expertise in franchise law, real estate, site selection, lease negotiation, training, marketing, financing, advertising and every facet of operations of a Franchisor. In 1989 one of his client companies was named by Entrepreneurs Magazine as the Nations #1 Franchise in its industry, and was also ranked as the fastest growing franchise company in Canada. While directing the franchise marketing for this client company, he sold single, area and master franchises in Canada, the USA and Puerto Rico. BRUNO PIVA,
Vice President

Prior to joining Network Franchising International on June 1st, 2004, Bruno was employed with Midas International for 20 years, 16 of which years he served as Vice-President of Franchise Operations. While with Midas, Bruno had franchise expansion responsibilities for 325 shops in Eastern Canada and the North Eastern regions of the USA and succeeded in re-franchising 30 poor performing shops located in upper NY State, Michigan, and Ohio. He has a life-time of achievements in the franchise industry. As a Senior Franchise Consultant with Network Franchising International, Bruno now applies his expertise to helping investors avoid the pitfalls and select the right franchise, at the right price, on the right terms. HECTOR MARSILIO,
Senior Franchise Consultant

Hector Marsilio has a diverse and extensive background covering a variety of industries, including senior marketing roles with confectionery and food manufacturing businesses, with such well-known Canadian brands as Life Savers, Robin Hood and Colgate. In 1996, Hector Marsilio entered the franchise industry with Second Cup Coffee Co., first as a franchise owner [Investor] and later as Vice President, Franchise Development with the corporation [Franchisor]. In 2003, Hector left Second Cup to launch his own franchise marketing company, then joined Network Franchising International in 2004 as a Senior Franchise Consultant, primarily responsible for achieving the franchise expansion goals of the company's Food Services clients. RYAN J. MARCH
Director, Business Development

Ryan March joined NFI in December 2008 to assist in our growth & corporate expansion. He has been consulting over the past several years in numerous roles of franchise system development from start ups to prominent players in the North American franchising marketplace. He has worked with fortune 500 companies such as Telus, Yellow Pages, Pizza Hut and Verizon as well as the PGA . He has been responsible for the development of company franchise programs including the creation of brand identity, print and online media advertisements as well as the development and production of marketing packages. Ryan also has experience in media placement, franchisee financing, and new franchisee training/orientation systems. Designing and implementing franchisee recruitment programs and effective sales processes has been the platform for Ryan's success in the sales of numerous franchises. KASS KASSAM
Franchise Consultant

Kass Kassam joined NFI in February 2011 to assist in growing the Business Brokerage division and Franchisor Services offerings. He also has his Real Estate License. Kass has been involved in several successful business ventures in the last 15 years. He was previously the VP of Business Development at VR Business Brokers Inc., a leading Canadian franchise marketer. He was consistently their most successful franchise developer in Ontario with brands such as; Fantastic Sams Hair Salons, Candy Express and The Soup Man. Kass was instrumental in managing license arrangements with the Hudson Bay Company and Eaton's, and sponsorship programs with Nike Canada, Umbro Canada and Coca-Cola Bottling. Having his real estate license allows clients of NFI the ability to secure prime sites for their franchisees as well as allowing them a portal for exit strategies. Kass actively serves on the board of 2 not for profit organizations; a youth basketball development program and a community soccer tournament, his involvement at the executive consultancy level is challenging but rewarding.

TERRY STRAKER,
Marketing & Manual Specialist

Terry has joined the Network team as the Director of Marketing and Communications. He has written and developed successful franchise promotional campaigns, and has personally received National and North American marketing awards, as well as provided effective marketing concepts that went on to win CFA awards for clients. Working with new and developed franchisors, Terry designs advertising strategies, works with franchise committees, creates franchisee advertising fund programs, produces multimedia communication initiatives, and Web site design/Search engine optimization. He has directed media responsive publicity campaigns and is a contributor to Canadian business magazines, the Toronto Star and the National Post. He also develops franchise operations, training, marketing and technical manuals. Terry's new book on Small Business Marketing will be soon released in Canada.

Amanda (Mandy) Vortisch
Art Director & Department Coordinator

Amanda joined NFI in August 2011. She has an extensive Advertising and Design background, supported by a Degree from Toronto's Guelph/Humber Creative Advertising Program. Amanda coordinates all Franchise Marketing Materials by clearly understanding internal and external customer's unique needs and target audience. She meets with clients to discuss new concepts and creates new materials that strengthen their brand appearance and client recognition. Using her creative skill set, Amanda designs eye catching Franchise Packages, Online Ads and Website improvement to generate interest and sales. The variety of franchises we represent and their unique requirements provides Amanda with endless opportunities to create exciting concepts and campaigns.

Bruce Winstanley
Director, Western Canada Office

Bruce Winstanley is the new Director of Operations for the NFI Western Canada Offices located in Calgary. Bruce provides strategic direction and assistance for qualified candidates looking to enter the franchise industry. He is a University graduate, with over 30 years of diverse business experience to share with his clients. Previous to joining NFI, Bruce provided Franchise consultant services through an affiliation with The Business Alliance of Seattle. In addition, he has held sales and marketing positions with several major corporations. Bruce has also developed, operated and managed several of his own businesses including a retail business.
